Accessibility and locale

How users work with forms, dates, money, language, keyboards, and different screen sizes.

Scope

Oto displays dates, times, money, names, phone numbers, and translated content for the applicable branch and workflow. Forms and controls are usable across the supported staff, public, kiosk, and POS interfaces.

Design

Forms label their fields, identify errors, preserve valid input, and show progress for slow actions. Pages support keyboard operation, visible focus, text alternatives, status text in addition to color, and layouts suited to the supported screen sizes. Thai and English text and Unicode names are supported where required.

Failure handling

Validation identifies the affected field or action. Interrupted actions show whether they failed, remain unresolved, or completed. Missing translations fall back to the configured language.

Requirements

  • Forms identify invalid fields, preserve valid input, and explain how to continue.
  • Use the branch timezone, configured currency, phone numbers normalized to include the applicable + country code, and rounding rules required by each workflow.
  • Customer-facing interfaces provide five built-in languages, including English and Thai; the other three languages remain to be specified.
  • Customer messaging uses LLM translation when the customer and staff use different supported languages, while retaining the original message.
  • Provide labels, visible focus, keyboard operation, text alternatives, non-color status cues, and responsive layouts for applicable workflows.

Verification

  • Test the documented date, timezone, holiday, currency, rounding, phone, and language behavior.
  • Test every customer-facing workflow in all five built-in interface languages and verify translated messaging retains both the original and translated text.
  • Test critical workflows with keyboard navigation, assistive technology, zoom, and supported phone, tablet, kiosk, and desktop layouts.
